Marrakech
It was this city that gave its name to the country: Marrakech – the capital of South Morocco and the gate to the desert. Marrakech is ‘in’ and every year there is an increasing number of visitors who come to discover this ‘Pearl of the South'. It is the scene of an extremely intense social and cultural life. In addition, it boasts an excellent climate and a remarkable location. In the heart of Marrakech is the square Jemaa El Fna, where each day at sunset thousands of people come together to attend the performances of jugglers, acrobats, serpent charmers and story tellers until late into the night. Right next to the square lies the medina where you may wander through an incredible maze of alleys that extend over dozens of miles. Here are innumerable small shops, where everything from souvenirs, and articles of craftsmanship, to all kinds of house-products, can be bought. Visitors will also admire the gardens of Marrakech as well as its famous palm grove.
